Form, texture, geometry, silence and color… these are, in more or less that order, the elements of an image that I am most interested in capturing and celebrating. I find subjects all around me – in nature, architecture, common everyday objects – but my photos are not really about nature or architecture or objects of daily living.
I've always enjoyed painting and photography as a hobby. I took several art history, art appreciation courses, and a few studio art courses in college as I prepared for a career in science. I discovered digital photography and Adobe Photoshop in the 90's, and for the past 10 years or so I have enjoyed exploring the world around me with these tools.
